Dele Alli: Tottenham Hotspur dominated Arsenal from the start

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli said his team had "dominated" after they cut Chelsea's lead at the top of the Premier League back to four points and guaranteed that they will finish above Arsenal by winning White Hart Lane's last-ever North London derby 2-0.

Alli gave Spurs the lead in the second half, with Harry Kane adding the decisive second goal from the penalty spot after he had been brought down by Gabriel two minutes later.

The England international, who had missed a great chance before the break, told the BBC: "I have to blame myself a bit for my header at the far post -- I was kicking myself for missing that -- but we dominated from the start.

"It's a huge win for us and the fans. We just have to keep looking to improve. We fell off at the end of last season, so it's important we continue to build on what we're doing."

Fellow scorer Kane told Sky Sports: "We wanted to finish the last North London derby on a high note. What a day."

He said ensuring that Spurs will finish ahead of Arsenal this season was "nice and good for the fans" but stressed: "We are still looking at the title race -- that's an added bonus to what was a great day.

"The fans will be happy that they've got the bragging rights for the time being, but we've still got four important games."

Tottenham play at West Ham on Friday and can cut Chelsea's lead to a point before the leaders are at home to struggling Middlesbrough on Monday.

And defender Jan Vertonghen told Sky Sports: "We have to keep winning our games and put the pressure on Chelsea. We can't do anything else.

"If we can win on Friday we will move to within a point, and let's see what they've got."
