LONDON - Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has said the Wembley atmosphere is even better than White Hart Lane's and there will be no excuse for failure in Thursday's Europa League game against KAA Gent.
Spurs have lost six of their last seven matches at Wembley, including two Champions League group games, and must overcome a 1-0 deficit against the Belgian side in the round-of-32 second leg.
The Londoners plan to play all their home games at Wembley next season and Kane told a prematch news conference: "White Hart Lane is obviously a lot smaller and the crowd are on top of you. We have a great atmosphere there, but at Wembley it is even better.
"Even though the fans are not as close to the pitch, having 90,000 people there is incredible.
"I think it's a full house again [against Gent], so hopefully we can use it to our advantage."
The England striker said playing at the stradium had been "a great experience" despite some disappointing results, adding: "That was just down to our performances. I don't think the stadium was to blame
"We won the last game we played there [against CSKA Moscow], so hopefully we can win on Thursday and progress."
Spurs will play at Wembley again if they can overcome League One side Millwall in the FA Cup quarterfinals.
And Kane said: "The more times we play there, the better it will be for us. Every time we play there we feel a bit more comfortable and used to the surroundings.
"We try to make it as much of a home as possible. We have no excuses."
Tottenham were out of sorts in the first leg at Gent and manager Mauricio Pochettino accused his players of lacking focus.
Kane, however, stressed that Spurs want to win the Europa League and said the competition was special to him after he scored five goals in four starts in his breakthrough 2014-15 season.
"It's very important -- it's the chance to win a big trophy," he added. "It's a competition I hold close to my heart.
"Of course we want to win a trophy. I don't think it will be the be-all or end-all if we don't, though. The club is moving in the right direction. The trophy is the next step.
"It's a great opportunity for us to turn it around in the second leg. We are feeling confident."
Spurs will be without Danny Rose and Erik Lamela against Gent, but Pochettino otherwise has a full squad to choose from.
