Tottenham striker Harry Kane could cope with NFL - Clive Allen

Former Tottenham Hotspur forward Clive Allen says he would not be surprised if Harry Kane moved to the NFL one day.

Allen, 55, was one of the few football players to move into the sport when he joined NFL Europe side the London Monarchs in the 1990s as a placekicker after a career playing for the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester City.

And the former England international insists that Golden Boot winner Kane, who has already revealed his interest in the sport, would make a fine American Football player.

"I know Harry well. He's a natural sportsman -- a good golfer -- and I wouldn't be surprised [if he moved to NFL]," Allen told the Evening Standard.

"He would be one who could master the technique -- there's no doubt about that. And I know he would have the mentality to cope with it as well.

"Even though the ball is snapped and placed for you there are a number of times when it's not quite perfect for you. So you have to adjust when you're kicking."
