Harry Kane: Premier League title 'has not gone' after Spurs' draw

Tottenham striker Harry Kane refused to conceded the Premier League title race after Monday's 1-1 draw against West Brom.

The result leaves Spurs seven points adrift of Leicester, who can win the league as early as Sunday at Manchester United.

But Kane, who hit the post early on against West Brom, said Spurs must retain hope as they chase the Foxes.

"It has not gone. We need to keep fighting," Kane told Sky Sports.

"We felt we needed to win this game so we are disappointed. We had enough chances in the first half to put it to bed. But we weren't good enough in the second half.

"We felt we could easily have won the game if we played in the second half like we did the first. It is football. All we can do is keep fighting.

"We have Chelsea next. Hopefully Man United can do us a favour."

Mauricio Pochettino rued Tottenham's missed chances urged his players to continue to believe they could steal the Premier League title from Leicester's grasp.

"We're very disappointed," the Spurs boss told Sky Sports. "It could have been 3- or 4-0 but unlucky for us we weren't clinical in the box.

"It was a very tough game and they competed very well. Now it's difficult to carry on but we need to believe. In football it can happen."

West Brom's Craig Dawson was responsible for both goals, first scoring in his own net in the first half to give Tottenham the lead before heading in the equaliser in the 73rd minute.

His teammate Darren Fletcher said he was happy how the Baggies responded after a poor first half.

"They are a top side. We had too many sloppy passes in the first 10 minutes. We followed instructions and the game plan worked in the second half," Fletcher said.

"We are not an easy team to play against, but Tottenham gave 100 percent effort.

"[Craig Dawson] was unfortunate but he is a whole-hearted defender. But he then showed why he is a real threat from set pieces."

Fletcher wouldn't pick a title winner after putting a major damper on Spurs's dreams.

"I'm sure Leicester were supporting us but we concentrate on ourselves. The title race does not involve us," Fletcher said.

"Tottenham and Leicester are two good sides. They have very different styles of play and you can see why they are both at the top of the league."
