Tottenham's Dele Alli, Mauricio Pochettino win London football awards

Tottenham's Dele Alli has been named London Young Player of the Year, while his manager Mauricio Pochettino won London Manager of the Year.

The Spurs pair were honoured at the 2016 London Football Awards, where John Terry, Dimitri Payet and Petr Cech were also winners.

Alli, 19, continued his remarkable rise by beating teammate Eric Dier, Arsenal's Hector Bellerin, Ademola Lookman of Charlton and Fulham's Moussa Dembele to the award for the best under-23 player in the capital.

A year ago, Alli was playing in League One for MK Dons, but the midfielder has taken the Premier League by storm since moving to Tottenham in the summer and he scored on his England debut last year.

Pochettino, meanwhile, pipped Premier League rivals Arsene Wenger of Arsenal, Watford boss Quique Sanchez Flores and West Ham's Slaven Bilic to the manager's award.

The Argentine has transformed the club since arriving in 2014 and Spurs are currently second in the table and eyeing a first league title since 1961.

Elsewhere, Chelsea stalwart John Terry was honoured with the award for an Outstanding Contribution to London Football, West Ham playmaker Payet won Premier League Player of the Year, while Dembele was named Football League Player of the Year.

London Goalkeeper of the Year was Arsenal's Cech and Eni Aluko of Chelsea was named London Women's Player of the Year.
