Tottenham are planning to open talks with Mousa Dembele over a new deal at White Hart Lane, sources have told ESPN FC.
Dembele has been one of Tottenham's star performers so far this season and the club are keen to reward the Belgian for his fine form with a new contract.
The 28-year-old is entering the final 18 months of his current contract and Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is keen to keep him at the club on a long-term deal.
After struggling to hold down a regular place in the starting XI under Pochettino last season, Dembele has established himself as an integral part in the Tottenham side this term, helping them to extend their unbeaten run to 12 games with victory over West Ham at the weekend.
Dembele was linked with a possible move away from Tottenham during the summer transfer window, but now Spurs are set to offer the skilful midfielder a contract extension.
Dembele has scored three goals in his last five games making 12 appearances in all competitions this season as Spurs have made a fine start to the campaign.
