Tottenham set to be without Son Heung-min vs. Monaco with foot injury

Tottenham Hotspur look set to be without Son Heung-min for Thursday's Europa League trip to AS Monaco after he suffered a foot injury.

Son, signed from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer, has scored three goals for Spurs so far this season -- including a quickfire brace in the 3-1 win over FK Qarabag in their opening group game.

But he now faces a spell on the sidelines after picking up the problem during the 4-1 thrashing of Manchester City last weekend, in which he was substituted off 12 minutes from time.

Spurs have put no timescale on his return, meaning he must also be a major doubt for Sunday's Premier League trip to Swansea -- as well as South Korea's World Cup qualifier against Kuwait.

A brief statement on the club's official website read: "Son Heung-min sustained a foot injury in a challenge during Saturday's win against Manchester City and has spent the past few days being reviewed.

"Our medical staff will monitor his progress during his rehabilitation in order to determine when he will be fit to return to training."
