Harry Kane's lack of goals not worrying Spurs' Mauricio Pochettino

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is not concerned about Harry Kane's inability to score in the opening four matches of the season and after watching him miss two more chances in a goalless draw against Everton.

Kane scored 31 goals in all competitions last season but has yet to find the net so far in this campaign.

But his manager said he remained confident that Kane will regain his scoring touch in the coming weeks.

"I was happy with Harry," Pochettino said. "His performance was good. For a striker, it's important to score, but it was difficult against Everton.

"I'm not worried about Harry. I'm sure that over the next few weeks he'll score. We don't need to speak about it too much -- we don't want to put more pressure on him."

Spurs settled for a goalless draw on Saturday despite taking 20 shots, as opposing goalkeeper Tim Howard put in a standout performance.

Kane, Ryan Mason, Nacer Chadli, Jan Vertonghen, Eric Dier and Nabil Bentaleb all attempted and failed to beat the American shot-stopper, and Pochettino credited Howard's resolve after the game.

"Tim Howard was Man of the Match -- that's the clear answer," Pochettino said. "I'm disappointed because I think we deserved more but in the last few games we've deserved more, more and more.

"We need to improve in front of the opponents' goal and to be more clinical but this type of period can happen. "The good thing is that we've played better than United, Stoke, Leicester and Everton.

"I think we're in a good way but it's true, you feel a little frustrated because you play better and draw, play better and draw, play better and draw. That is a little upsetting. Why? Because we deserve more.

"We need to maintain the performance, this is the right way and we're not worried because when Eriksen, Njie and Son are available it's a strong squad."

Mousa Dembele has a foot injury and an update on the extent of the damage is expected on Monday, according to the club's website.
