Tottenham's Brazil international Paulinho has said he is considering returning to his home country as he struggles for playing time at White Hart Lane.

Paulinho, who joined the club from Corinthians in a 17 million-pound deal last summer, has not won a regular place in the team and has played only 29 minutes under coach Mauricio Pochettino this season.

The midfielder told Brazilian media outlet Lancenet: "Players always wants to play, and I am participating in a few games at Tottenham. Maybe this is the time to go back.

"There is interest from Brazilian clubs, but nothing concrete yet. I'm glad to have that recognition, and I feel proud.

"Tottenham invested very big money to transfer me, but it can work out or not, like any other player. I do not have to think about transferring, but any player is subject to transfer when the window opens."
