Sinisa Mihajlovic says pundits 'should go to optician' after Torino penalty

Torino coach Sinisa Mihajlovic hit out at two Sky Sport studio pundits, saying they should "see an optician" after not agreeing with him about a penalty call in the 2-2 home draw with Lazio on Sunday.

Torino salvaged a point with a last-gasp spot-kick for handball that neither Alessandro Costacurta nor Giancarlo Marocchi believed should have been given.

But Mihajlovic was certain the referee had got it right and, addressing the pundits, he said: "I think you need to go and see an optician.

"What do you mean it's not voluntary [handball], how can you explain that? It's always down to points of views, so let's leave it be.

"We managed to equalise thanks to a penalty which was clear, and there should have been one in the first half too -- that seemed like the one by [Mark] Iuliano on Ronaldo [controversially not given in 1998] so what goes around comes around in football.

"I don't know how the referee didn't see it."

However, Mihajlovic admitted his side had not deserved more than a draw and said: "When Torino play like Torino, we can beat anybody.

"When we don't, we can lose. We played a great first half and took the lead, but they came at us with four forwards in the second half and we sat too deep and did nothing for 25 minutes.

"We started to play again after their goals. It's thanks to the fans. If you can't win, then it's important that you don't lose."

Goalkeeper Joe Hart helped Torino avoid defeat, with some important saves earning him strong ratings in the Italian sports newspapers on Monday.

The draw keeps Torino level with Lazio in fifth place on 15 points.
