Christian Epoupa stunner earns DeMbare's Lloyd Mutasa breathing space

Under-fire Dynamos coach Lloyd Mutasa earned himself some desperately needed breathing space after his side's 1-0 win over Harare City on matchday 10 in the Zimbabwe Premier League on Thursday.

Cameroon import Christian Epoupa struck a stunning volley on 35 minutes as Dynamos registered only a third win in eight matches to move away from the relegation zone and relieve some pressure off beleaguered coach Mutasa.

City defenders struggled to deal with a Dynamos corner kick and the ball fell to Epoupa...

Black Rhinos take pole position in Zimbabwe Premier League

The summit of the Zimbabwe Premier League log continued to change hands at a dizzying pace this weekend with Black Rhinos displacing overnight leaders FC Platinum following a 3-0 demolition of Hwange on Sunday.

Rhinos, returning to the topflight after two years in Division One, have now won six of nine matches to confirm their emergence as a formidable force in the league.

James Mukombwe gave Chauya Chipembere a fifth minute lead before further goals from Milton Kureva (44) and Vincent Nhandu (83)...

FC Platinum beat Yadah to go top of the Zimbabwe Premier League

Former Hwange forward Gift Mbweti scored his first league goal of the season as FC Platinum beat Yadah FC 2-0 to climb to the top of standings in the Zimbabwe Premier League.

Mbweti, who bagged nine goals in his breakthrough season with Hwange last term, calmed the nerves for the home side with a 10th minute strike before midfielder Gerald Takwara added a second just before the break.

The score-line was however a little unjust on Yadah, who fought bravely and created some decent openings only to...

Midweek disaster for giants CAPS, Dynamos

Never Tigere scored on the stroke of full time to fire ZPC Kariba back to the top of the standings with a 2-1 win at home to CAPS United on Wednesday.

The unfashionable Mashonaland West side have now put together a commendable five match winning streak to underscore their resurgence as a force in the Zimbabwe Premiership.

Sunday Chidzambwa's team could even afford to miss a penalty, with CAPS goalkeeper Edmore Sibanda saving Raphael Manuvire's seventh minute effort.

The home side were soon in front...

Zimbabwe coach Norman Mapeza faces selection challenges ahead of Liberia tie

Football players of Zimbabwe talk with the referee of the match after his penalty decision during the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations group B football match between Zimbabwe and Tunisia in Libreville.
Football players of Zimbabwe talk with the referee of the match after his penalty decision during the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations group B football match between Zimbabwe and Tunisia in Libreville.

Zimbabwe caretaker coach Norman Mapeza is already grappling with team selection ahead of the 2019 Nations Cup qualifier against Liberia early next month.

The Lone Stars' visit represents Mapeza's first competitive encounter on his return to the Zimbabwe bench, albeit on a temporary basis.

And with the broke Zimbabwe Football Association having indicated that they are in no position to appoint a substantive coach anytime soon. The 45-year-old will also be in charge for the African Nations...
