The 29th Southeast (SEA) Asian Games men's football tournament kicks off on Monday, with 11 nations vying for the gold medal.

Neighbours Singapore and Malaysia will face off in the group stages of 2017 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games after the football draw for the biennial competition was held in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday.

The last time the nations faced off in the SEA Games was in the 2013 bronze medal match when a Hariss Harun brace led Singapore to a 2-1 win and a podium finish.

Both Singapore and Malaysia have a point to prove in this edition after failing to progress to the knockout stages in the 2015 edition.
