Toronto FC and U.S. national team striker Jozy Altidore could be headed back to Europe, a source with knowledge of the situation has told ESPN FC.

Altidore, 28, has drawn the interest of a club in Ligue 1 as well as one in Serie A, the source said, but the Italian transfer window closed on Friday evening with no word of a deal.

The French window doesn't close until the end of this month, providing some more time to get a deal done should interest persist.

New York City FC academy product Giovanni Reyna, the son of the club's sporting director and former U.S. star Claudio Reyna, is set to join the youth program of Borussia Dortmund, sources confirmed to ESPN FC.
