Hope Solo: FIFA should not vote U.S. as host of 2026 World Cup

Hope Solo says she wants the United States-led North American bid to lose FIFA's vote to host the 2026 World Cup.

"I can't say it should be awarded to Morocco," the former U.S. women's national team goalkeeper told The Associated Press. "But I don't think it should go to the United States, and that's hard to say."

The United bid of the U.S., Canada and Mexico could be selected at host in FIFA's vote next Wednesday, but now faces criticism from one of U.S. Soccer's most famous players.

Karen Bardsley's own goal condemned England to defeat in Orlando, in a match where a draw would have seen them win the SheBelieves Cup for the first time.

"There is no doubt we were beaten by the better team. I think the positive we can take is from that last 20 to 25 minutes," Neville said in comments reported by Sky Sports.

"It seemed...

England have no 'fear factor' vs. U.S. in SheBelieves Cup - Phil Neville

England women's national team coach Phil Neville says his players have lost the "fear factor" of facing the United States as they prepare for their decisive SheBelieves Cup match.

England can win the four-team round-robin tournament if they secure a draw against the host nation in Orlando on Wednesday, having already beaten France and drawn with Germany in Neville's first matches at the helm.

And Neville believes that the increased numbers of English and Americans joining clubs in each others' professional...
