Abby Wambach, Alex Morgan, Sydney Leroux carry U.S. World Cup hopes

Alex Morgan, left, Abby Wambach, middle, and Sydney Leroux, right, have scored a combined 268 international goals.

Ahead of the Women's World Cup, which kicks off on June 6, ESPN The Magazine's World Football Issue (on newsstands May 29) profiles the United States team and, in particular, forwards Abby Wambach, Alex Morgan and Sydney Leroux.

Wambach made her U.S. debut in 2001, has scored 182 goals and won two Olympic golds but has yet to lift the World Cup.
Morgan has scored 51 goals for the U.S., including two at the 2011 World Cup.
Canada-born Leroux made her senior United States debut in 2011 and has scored 35 international goals.
The United States opens group play at the World Cup vs. Australia on June 8.
