Former Ukraine midfielder Andriy Gusin dies at 41

Andriy Gusin, left, seen here in action during the 2006 World Cup, died on Wednesday at age 41.

KIEV, Ukraine -- Andriy Gusin, a former Ukraine midfielder who helped his country reach the 2006 World Cup quarterfinals, has died, the Ukrainian football federation said Wednesday. He was 41.

Gusin made 71 appearances for Ukraine, including in all five matches at the World Cup in Germany.

According to local reports, Gusin was killed when he fell off a motorbike...
