The Army United FC fans' page was effusive in its praise of their new foreign goalkeeper: "Big, strong, agile and very commanding in the box," gushed the English language website.

Singapore's Hassan Sunny marked his competitive debut in Thailand with a clean sheet as Army United overcame Navy FC 1-0 in a tight affair in Bangkok on Saturday. The home support left impressed with the 2014 S-League Player of the Year who is the first Singaporean custodian to play in Thailand's top flight.

New recruit inspires defending Thai champions Buriram in opener

Buriram United fans saw their team record a 2-0 win over Port FC in their first game of the 2015 TPL season.

Defending champions Buriram United secured a 2-0 win over Port FC in their Thai Premier League (TPL) opener at the New I-Mobile Stadium with their new Brazilian forward Gilberto Macena scoring both the goals.

Alexandre Gama's men were in cruise control from start to end as they dictated play in front of a partisan crowd. Macena, a former Shandong Luneng player who is on-loan from Hangzhou Greentown, scored in the 39th and 44th minutes to ensure the champions kick off their campaign on the right...

Buriram United fans are expected to be in celebratory mood as their club are expected to win against troubled Port MTI in their 2015 TPL opener.

Bjorn Lindemann, the German midfielder who plies his trade in the Thai Premier League (TPL), knows what it takes to defeat giants Muang Thong United. 31-year-old Lindemann scored twice for his previous club Suphanburi when they thrashed the Twin Qilins 5-2 last year on their own patch.

The Thai Premier league (TPL) kicks off on Valentine's weekend, with the usual suspects expected to challenge for the top prizes.

However, a few dark horses are waiting in the wings and hoping to add a bit of romance to proceedings.

Buriram United and Muangthong United have shared the title for the last seven years. But many fans will be hoping that Chonburi's near-miss last season paves the way for more challengers outside the big two. Here are five things to look out for in the TPL season 2015:

Thai striker Teerasil leaves Almeria to rejoin TPL giants Muang Thong United

Thai striker Teerasil Dangda has left La Liga side Almeria and will rejoin former club Muang Thong United for the 2015 Thai Premier League season.

Thailand striker Teerasil Dangda has terminated his loan deal with Spanish La Liga side Almeria and will join Thai Premier League (TPL) giants Muang Thong United for the 2015 season.

The 26-year-old -- who played six games and scored one goal since joining the Spanish club in June last year -- cited language barrier and the lack of playing time as reasons behind the termination of the loan deal.

"I had a lot of problems, particularly while communicating with the coach and teammates which made it...
