Thailand won't pay 'large sums' to keep national boss Milovan Rajevac

Jason Dasey and John Wilkinson break down the keys to Buriram United's success atop the Thai Premier League table.
At a young age, Charyl Chappuis' passion for football was ignited. Delve into the story of how his love for the game has evolved.

Football Association of Thailand (FAT) president Somyot Poompunmuang insists he wants Milovan Rajevac to stay on as head coach after reports emerged that at least one club from China was interested in the Serbian.

But Somyot admitted that the FAT would be unable to compete financially with any Chinese Super League (CSL) sides, and a parting of the ways may be inevitable if the interest from China results in a firm offer.

Rajevac has become increasingly frustrated by the delay in being offered an...

Buriram United dumped out of Thai FA Cup by Chiang Rai United

Jason Dasey and John Wilkinson break down the keys to Buriram United's success atop the Thai Premier League table.
At a young age, Charyl Chappuis' passion for football was ignited. Delve into the story of how his love for the game has evolved.

Thai League (T1) leaders Buriram United were dumped out of their second cup competition in a week as a late Felipe Azevedo strike gave Chiang Rai United a 1-0 victory in the Thai FA Cup quarterfinals.

The visitors missed several chances in a scrappy game before Azevedo struck with nine minutes remaining.

Having lost to Muang Thong United in the League Cup last week, Buriram will look to wrap up the T1 title as soon as possible, requiring two wins from the final four games.

Buriram made a lively...

Thailand boss Milovan Rajevac fields interest from Chinese club

Jason Dasey and John Wilkinson break down the keys to Buriram United's success atop the Thai Premier League table.
At a young age, Charyl Chappuis' passion for football was ignited. Delve into the story of how his love for the game has evolved.

Thailand head coach Milovan Rajevac could be set to leave his post after just six months in the job, with at least one club in China expressing an interest in his services.

The Serbian was appointed to the Thailand job in May of this year, following the surprise resignation of Kiatisuk "Zico" Senamuang. The former Ghana boss signed a one-year deal, with a view to extending it if all parties were happy with results.

ESPN FC understands that Rajevac and his team are keen to stay in Thailand, but they...

Singapore, Malaysia drop sharply in FIFA rankings after winless 2017

Singapore will hope to finish strong in the Asian Cup qualifiers following quite a disappointing 2017 campaign.

After a winless 2017, Singapore and Malaysia fell a combined 15 spots in the latest FIFA rankings, to sit below Asian minnows like Laos and Chinese Taipei.

Singapore tumbled 11 places to 173rd, while Malaysia are just above them in 170th after sliding four rungs.

Both teams are in danger of failing to advance to the 2019 AFC Asian Cup after defeat-riddled qualifying campaigns so far.

Singapore have garnered only two points from four matches in Group E, while Malaysia are on one point after two...

Jaja Coelho takes Buriram United to brink of Thai glory above Muang Thong

Ex-Thailand boss Kiatisuk Senamuang is struggling since taking charge of Port FC.
At a young age, Charyl Chappuis' passion for football was ignited. Delve into the story of how his love for the game has evolved.

Striker Jaja Coelho netted his fourth hat trick of the season as a 5-2 victory over Sukhothai put Buriram United within touching distance of the Thai League (T1) title.

Jaja and fellow Brazilian Diogo Luis Santo made the difference for the Thunder Castle, while second-placed Muang Thong United slipped nine points behind as their match at home to Thai Honda was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Due to their superior head-to-head record over the Kirins, Buriram now need just six points from their...
