Ex-England defender Gary Stevens becomes Ubon coach in Thailand

John Wilkinson and Jason Dasey speak on Jay Bothroyd and Chanathip Songkrasin helping Consadole Sapporo avoid relegation.
Jason Dasey and PJ Roberts evaluate Australia's World Cup group and assess whether they or any other Asian teams can progress.

Former England and Tottenham Hotspur defender Gary Stevens is set for a new challenge in Thai football as he takes on the role of head coach at Ubon UMT United in 2018.

Ubon will be Stevens' third Thai League (T1) club, having previously managed Army United and Port FC.

Stevens was in charge at Army United for the second half of the 2014 season and led them to their best ever start to a T1 season in 2015 before a run of three defeats saw him "rested" and then released.

FC Tokyo starlet Jakkit Wachpirom becomes first Thai to score in J.League

John Wilkinson and Jason Dasey speak on Jay Bothroyd and Chanathip Songkrasin helping Consadole Sapporo avoid relegation.

FC Tokyo Under-23 winger Jakkit Wachpirom has made history as the first Thai to score in the J.League, a feat that has so far eluded his more celebrated compatriot Chanathip Songkrasin.

Jakkit, on loan at the J3 club from Bangkok United, side footed home from an angle in the first minute of Sunday's 2-1 victory over Cerezo Osaka U23.

For the club, it meant a winning end to a season in which they finish in 11th spot, and for Jakkit it was the latest high point in what has been a successful...

Jason Dasey and John Wilkinson discuss the new rule that will make S.League sides more youthful and examine the future of the national team.

Singapore goalkeeper Hassan Sunny is set to rejoin former club Army United in Thai League 2 (T2) from next month.

According to reports in the Thai media, the club president has confirmed that Hassan will be officially unveiled on Jan. 5. Hassan was with the Bangkok based side in 2015 and 2016 when they were in Thailand's top tier.

This may put an end to speculation that Muang Thong United were lining him up as a possible replacement for Kawin Thamsatchanan in the event that the Thailand keeper earns...

JDT face Muang Thong United on tough road to qualify for 2018 ACL

PJ Roberts delves into JDT's recent signings that will strengthen the Malaysian champions in 2018.

Malaysia Super League (MSL) champions Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) will face Thai opponents in the AFC Champions League (ACL) preliminary round for the fourth consecutive year as Muang Thong United lie in wait again.

The pair faced off in 2016, with the Thai side prevailing in a penalty shootout following a 0-0 draw at the SCG Stadium.

For JDT, this represented an improved performance after a meek exit in a 3-0 defeat to Bangkok Glass the previous year.

In 2017, the Malaysian side went one better as...

Singapore's Irfan Fandi ponders move to Thailand giants Bangkok Glass

Singapore's Irfan Fandi discusses his preferred position and looks ahead to his side's Asian Cup qualifier against Bahrain.

Home United utility Irfan Fandi is in talks with Bangkok Glass about a move to the Thai League (T1) side for the 2018 season, but admits his ultimate ambition is to play in Europe.

The 20-year-old has already established himself as a regulation in the Singapore national team, and could now be in line to take a step up from the S.League to T1.

The Thai League is introducing a new ASEAN quota from 2018, facilitating the transfer of players from the region.

Singapore goalkeeper Hassan Sunny has been...
