Kara Mbodji extends Anderlecht deal

Senegal international Kara Mbodji has signed a new one-year contract extension at Anderlecht, which will keep him at the club until 2020.

The centre-back, who joined Anderlecht in 2015, put pen to paper on a new deal on Saturday, despite interest from elsewhere in Europe, according to the club's official website.

The 27-year-old has made 39 appearances for Senegal, scoring four goals, and represented the Lions of Teranga at the 2015 and 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.

Kara was named in the Team of the...

Are Stoke moulding Mame Biram Diouf into the new Victor Moses?

Victor Moses's successful conversion into a right wing-back last season looks to have made a big impression on Mark Hughes, who appears to be doing something similar with Mame Biram Diouf.

Nigeria international Moses was something of a forgotten man at Stamford Bridge after three seasons away on loan - with varying degrees of success - to Stoke City, Liverpool and West Ham United.

With competition in Chelsea's attack intense, Moses appeared set for a season on the sidelines, before Conte took the...

Gala have confirmed the deal on their official website, as the 26-year-old ends his two-year stay with The Ottomans.

The Dakar-born midfielder began his career at the celebrated Diambars...

Monaco yet to bid for Balde, Juventus offer rejected

AS Monaco are yet to make an offer for Lazio forward Keita Balde, but Juventus' initial bid for the player has been rejected, according to a source close to the Senegal international.

The 22-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from the capital club during this transfer window, with Juve's sporting director Giuseppe Marotta confirming on Wednesday that there had been discussions between the two clubs and an offer had been submitted.

However, a source in Balde's entourage has told L'Equipe...

Senegal suspend sports events after tragedy

Authorities in Senegal have suspended all sporting events in the country until the end of the month after eight people were killed at a football match on Saturday.

No sports or cultural events will take place in the west African nation until after the elections on 30 July as the government attempts to avoid a repeat of the weekend's tragedy.

Trouble flared at the Coupe de la Ligue final between US Ouakam and Stade de Mbour at the Stade Demba Diop in the Senegalese capital Dakar after...
