Ex-West Ham boss Slaven Bilic appointed by Saudi side Al Ittihad

Slaven Bilic has been appointed head coach of Saudi Arabian side Al Ittihad, his first coaching position since being sacked by West Ham last season.

Bilic, who has also taken charge of Croatia, Lokomotiv Moscow and Besiktas, signed a three-year deal on Thursday.

"Bilic will train Ittihad throughout the upcoming phase of the sports season," the club said in a statement.

Adel Ezzat resigns from Saudi Arabia post ahead of AFC presidency bid

Adel Ezzat has resigned from his post as president of the Saudi Arabia Football Federation in a bid to run for Asia's top job in 2019.

The official took the Riyadh post in December 2016 but now has his eyes on becoming president of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) in next year's elections.

"I presented to [Saudi sports chief] Turki al-Sheikh my resignation from my position as of today," Ezzat, who will be temporarily replaced by deputy of the federation Nawaf Al-Temyat until new elections...

Saudi Arabia stepped up pace to grab late win over Egypt - Juan Antonio Pizzi

A half-time pep talk and a step-up in pace were key to Saudi Arabia's last-gasp World Cup win over Egypt on Monday, coach Juan Antonio Pizzi has said.

Pizzi's side scored in the 95th minute to win 2-1 and end the tournament on a high despite both sides failing to progress from Group A.
