Cahill has now scored 45 goals in 88 international games since making his Australia debut in 2004.

Australia's record-scorer Tim Cahill grabbed a first half hat trick as the Asian champions eased to a 4-0 victory over Bangladesh in an AFC 2018 World Cup qualifier in Dhaka on Tuesday night.

Cahill took his Socceroos' tally to 45 goals in 88 international matches as he opened the scoring in the sixth minute with a simple header before adding to his account in the 32nd and 38th minutes.

Kuwait's World Cup qualifier with Myanmar postponed

Kuwait are currently banned from playing international football.

FIFA has postponed Kuwait's next World Cup qualifying match because their federation is suspended from international football for government interference.

Kuwait were to play at Myanmar in neutral Bangkok, Thailand, on Tuesday in an Asian qualifying group.

FIFA said that, taking into account the suspension, the match "cannot take place."

The ban was imposed last month after the FIFA Executive Committee -- including Kuwaiti royal Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah -- set Kuwait a deadline to change...

Former Perth Glory coach Alistair Edwards, seen here with William Gallas, played seven seasons In Malaysia.

Lifting the 2015 AFC Cup is a bigger deal for Johor football than the feats of the 1991 double-winning side, according to ex-Australia international Alistair Edwards.

Alongside other foreigners like Croatian Ervin Boban, Edwards was part of the beloved Johor team who were feted as heroes when they returned home after defeating Selangor in the Malaysia Cup final almost a quarter of a century ago.

But Edwards, now working as a Kuala Lumpur-based coach, says that JDT's 1-0 victory over Tajikistan's...

But because the Malaysia Super League champions are already through to the Malaysia Cup quarterfinals, Gomez will have the luxury of rotating his squad after the tiring trip back Tajikistan.

Malaysia Super League (MSL) champions Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) made history on Saturday night by becoming the first Southeast Asian club to lift the AFC Cup.

That came after a gritty 1-0 win over Tajikistan champions FC Istiklol, who had the advantage of playing in front of their own fans at the Central Republican Stadium in Dushanbe.

Argentine forward Leandro Velazquez's strike midway through the first half was enough to separate the two sides, although Istiklol can count themselves unlucky having...
