Friendly trials done, time for Igor Stimac to prove his worth

Following India's 1-1 draw against Syria in the Intercontinental Cup, a tournament in which the hosts ended bottom, with one point from three games, coach Igor Stimac took a not-so-subtle dig at India's previous management.

WC Qualifiers: India drawn with Qatar in Group E

India have been drawn alongside Qatar, Oman, Afghanistan and Bangladesh in Group E of the AFC's World Cup 2022 qualification. The matches, that begin on September 5, will also serve as dual qualification for the AFC Asian Cup in China in 2023.

I-League clubs request PM to 'intervene and save Indian football'

On the eve of an All India Football Federation (AIFF) executive committee meeting in New Delhi that could decide on their future, six I-League clubs have written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting him to set up an enquiry commission and "probe" the federation's functioning.
