RB Leipzig's Naby Keita injured, pulls out of Guinea friendly vs. Mauritania

Naby Keita's goal and assist helped Leipzig record their first-ever win over Bayern, who saw their 18-match unbeaten streak in all competitions come to an end.

Naby Keita has pulled out of the Guinea squad with a lower back injury and the flu.

Keita, who will join Liverpool in the summer, was substituted 68 minutes into RB Leipzig's 2-1 win over Bayern Munich on Sunday.

The midfielder put in a man-of-the-match performance as Leipzig inflicted a first defeat on Bayern after they went unbeaten for 18 consecutive games.

He cancelled out Sandro Wagner's lead and set up Timo Werner for the deciding goal before being withdrawn.

Leipzig, who shared an update...

Guinea appoint Paul Put only days after Kenya exit

Paul Put has been named as the head coach of the Guinea national football team only 11 days after he resigned from his post as Kenya boss.

The Belgian manager was unveiled at a press conference on Friday and will succeed Kanfoy Bangoura, who was dismissed following Guinea's group-stage exit from the African Nations Championship in Morocco.

Put spent three months as Harambee Stars boss after being appointed in November, but quit his post last month despite having won the 2017 CECAFA Cup during the...

Bencharki misses penalty as Sudan hold Morocco

Achraf Bencharki missed a second-half penalty as Morocco were held 0-0 by Sudan in their final group game at the African Nations Championship in Casablanca on Sunday.

The point is enough for Morocco to top the group - setting up a meeting with either Zambia or Namibia at the Stade Muhammed V on Saturday - while Sudan will face Group B's winner on the same day in Marrakech.

In the group's other fixture, already eliminated Guinea beat Mauritania 1-0 to end their disappointing campaign with a first...

Guinea's Kante backs Gal to bounce back after glaring Morocco error

Guinea's Abdoulaye Kante believes that Aboucaba 'Gal' Camara will bounce back after his horror error against Morocco as the Syli Nationale were eliminated from the African Nations Championship.

After losing both of their opening matches, Guinea became the first team to be eliminated from the ongoing CHAN, despite holding their own for long spells of their second group game against favourites and hosts Morocco.

However, despite cancelling out Ayoub El Kaabi's opener through Saidouba Camara, Guinea...

Ayoub El Kaabi nets hat-trick as Morocco down Guinea

Ayoub El Kaabi netted an excellent hat-trick as African Nations Championship hosts Morocco beat Guinea 3-1 to make it two wins out of two.

The West Africans, who are starting at an early elimination after suffering consecutive defeats, matched the Atlas Lions blow for blow during the first half, before a critical error from Aboubaca Camara allowed Morocco to take a second-half lead.

The hosts overcame the loss of influential playmaker Abdelilah Hafidi to injury in the 15th minute to draw first blood...
