Richmond Boakye relishing Champions League bow

Richmond Boakye will make his Champions League bow with Red Star Belgrade against Napoli on Tuesday, and the Ghana forward is determined to make the most of the opportunity ahead of him.

The 25-year-old rejoined Red Star Belgrade on a two-year loan deal from Chinese Super League side Jiangsu Suning earlier this month, with the prospect of continental competition a key factor in his return.

Red Star have returned to the group stage for the first time since 1991, and Boakye is determined to thrive...

Ghana bans 61 referees for corruption

The Referees Association of Ghana (RAG) says it has exonerated 14 and suspended or banned 61 referees because there was no evidence beyond reasonable doubt to substantiate allegations of corruption and bribery against them.

RAG became the latest body on Monday to issue long bans to Ghanaian referees caught up in a documentary by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas, which alleged widespread corruption and bribery among referees in Ghana.

CAF and FIFA have already banned the referees on the...

FIFA names Ghana normalisation committee

Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) board member Dr. Kofi Amoah will head a four-member normalisation committee, which will steer the affairs of Ghana football for the next six months.

FIFA says it will communicate any additional members of the committee who will...

Nicholas Opoku's first-half own goal gave Kenya their first competitive win over Ghana, boosted their own qualification hopes from Group F and, while it has not dented Ghana's chances of reaching an eighth straight AFCON immensely, it has put many of coach Kwesi Appiah's decisions under scrutiny again.

Ghana still top Group F on account of a...

Kenya defeat must be a wakeup call for Ghana - Kwadwo Asamoah

Ghana's 1-0 defeat by Kenya in Africa Cup of Nations qualifying on Saturday must be a 'wakeup call' for the Black Stars, according to returning midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah.

Kwesi Appiah's side fell behind in the 40th minute in the Kasarani Stadium after Nicholas Opoku's own goal, and even though the hosts were reduced to 10 men following Joash Onyango's sending off, they weren't able to equalise.

The victory was Kenya's first competitive triumph over the Black Stars and only their second win against...
