Inside France's eventful break: Deschamps turns 50, comeback results and World Cup rings

Germany won't be appearing in the Nations League finals this summer as they fall 2-1 to France and face the prospect of relegation from League A.
ESPN FC's Gab Marcotti and Craig Burley have a heated debate on Joachim Low's future following Germany's defeat against France.

PARIS -- It's half-time at the Stade de France on Tuesday night. France are trailing 1-0 against Germany and could have easily conceded one or two more in the first 45 minutes. The 3-4-3 formation put out by Joachim Low caught Didier Deschamps and his players by surprise; France are being dominated technically and outsmarted tactically.

In the dressing room, Deschamps is not happy at all. The coach had rushed straight there after Serbian referee Milorad Mazic blew for half-time and yells: "We are...

UEFA Nations League next gen: Sancho, Barella, Ndombele, Suso, Bergwijn

Ross Dyer and Paul Mariner face off ahead of the latest round of UEFA Nations League qualifiers.

PSG's Kylian Mbappe further eclipses Neymar with Time magazine cover

With the names of the 30 nominees for the men's Ballon d'Or trophy now revealed, the FC panel share their current front-runners for the award.

Kylian Mbappe's inexorable rise as one of world football's biggest stars has been nicely summed up by his appearance on the cover of Time magazine.

The 19-year-old (NINETEEN!) having his image on the front of the iconic publication as one of it's "Next Generation Leaders" for 2018 is the latest example of his star eclipsing that of Paris Saint-Germain teammate Neymar.

The France international won the World Cup with Les Bleus this summer and has been received jubilantly in his home country since...

Paul Pogba hairstyle Power Rankings: VOTE for your No. 1

With the international break upon us once again, what better time to focus on one of, if not the most ardently debated issues in modern football: Paul Pogba's hair.

The Manchester United midfielder debuted yet another new hairdo on his Instagram account this week, an impressive colour/fade job with a distinctive lightning strike.

Pogba has attracted plenty of heat in recent years for his propensity to alter his style every few weeks, with critics claiming it demonstrates an obvious lack of focus.

Kylian Mbappe driven by Didier Deschamps and desire to get better

Kylian Mbappe had a monstrous second half, netting four goals in a mere 14 minutes for Paris Saint-Germain against Lyon.
Kylian Mbappe found his scoring touch in the second half, scoring four goals in 14 minutes to lead PSG to victory over rivals Lyon.

Comparisons are probably made too frequently in football. They are easy, after all: The Mohamed Salah of last season and the one of this season is one example; the win rates of Jose Mourinho and Alex Ferguson at Manchester United is another.

Stats are measured against other stats, records against records, regardless of context, situation, time and era. Comparing one thing or person against another thing or person appears to be the go-to way of defining greatness or otherwise.

As such, when Kylian...
