Nicklas Bendtner doesn't regret aiming to be among 'best strikers in the world'

Layla Anna-Lee breaks down the latest from the social media world, including Nicklas Bendtner's move to Nottingham Forest.

Former Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner says he is "haunted" by his own claim that he would become one of the world's greatest strikers, but has no regrets.

Bendtner, 28, made the comment to the Danish press in November 2009, saying he wanted to be "top scorer in the Premier League" and "top scorer at the World Cup" as well as being "among the best strikers in the world." He added: "Trust me, it will happen."

Denmark got their World Cup qualification campaign off to a winning start thanks to Christian Eriksen's first-half strike against Armenia in Copenhagen.

The Tottenham midfielder finished a superb move when he ran onto Viktor Fischer's backheel and arrowed a low shot across goalkeeper Arsen Beglaryan after 17 minutes.

Denmark dominated the game and would have won by more were it not for Beglaryan, who kept out a 72nd-minute Fischer penalty after the Middlesbrough summer signing had been felled by...

Allardyce had looked as though he would have to settle for a deeply uninspiring stalemate in Trnava -- the hosts having held firm in the World Cup Group F qualifier despite Martin Skrtel's sending-off after a nasty stamp on Harry Kane.

However Lallana picked a perfect moment to break his international duck and seal three points.

The Liverpool...

Leicester's Kasper Schmeichel hopeful of quick return after hernia operation

Kasper Schmeichel has hopes of getting fit again quickly.

Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel is confident of a quick return after undergoing a hernia operation on Monday.

Schmeichel, 29, was substituted early in the second half of Leicester's 2-1 home win over Swansea after rushing from his area to make a clearance and was replaced by summer signing Ron-Robert Zieler.
