Daniel Agger pays for homeless team to reach World Cup

Daniel Agger: hero.

He may look like a tattoo-covered hard man of a centre-half, but Daniel Agger proved his "heart of gold" credentials over the weekend when he answered the plea of the Danish homeless national side and forked out the necessary cash to fly the whole team out to the upcoming Homeless World Cup in Chile.

Denmark's eight-man squad were 20,000 kroner (around 2,100 pounds) short of the funds required to get themselves and their kit to Santiago, where the tournament is being held, before Agger, after...

Denmark came from behind after a sublime strike from Henrik Mkhitaryan to defeat Armenia 2-1.

Nicklas Bendtner must 'lose three kilos' to become Wolfsburg starter

Nicklas Bendtner is struggling for full fitness as a consequence of his lack of playing time in 2014, German tabloid Bild reports.

- Toe poke: Bendtner flick fails spectacularly
- Bendtner urged to take Wolfsburg chance

Bendtner, 26, was a surprise signing for Wolfsburg during the summer transfer window and the paper claims that he needs to lose three kilograms in order to kickstart his Bundesliga career.

In need of attacking reinforcements, Die Wolfe appeared to be looking at the "top shelves"...

Nicklas Bendtner tries backheel flick, falls on his face

Denmark striker Nicklas Bendtner has a rather high opinion of himself, but that doesn't mean he can flick the ball like Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

He can try, but the former Arsenal striker really just ends up falling over. And not scoring... which Gunners' fans (and perhaps now Wolfsburg fans) are plenty used to.
