Janne Andersson to coach Sweden after European Championship

Sweden's football association says Janne Andersson, the coach of Swedish league champion IFK Norrkoping, will take charge of the national team after the European Championship this summer.

Andersson, 53, will replace Erik Hamren, who has coached Sweden since 2009.

The Swedish FA made the announcement in a brief statement on Wednesday following media reports saying that Andersson was Hamren's likely successor.

Andersson last year led Norrkoping to their first Swedish league title in 26 years. He previously coached Swedish clubs Orgryte and Halmstad, but has no international experience.

Hamren announced in February that Euro 2016 would be his last competition as Sweden coach.
