Euro 2016 without Zlatan Ibrahimovic 'unimaginable' as Sweden face playoff

Zlatan Ibrahimovic says it would be "unimaginable" if he misses out on playing at Euro 2016 as Sweden must qualify for the tournament via the playoffs.

Sweden beat Moldova 2-0 at Friends Arena on Tuesday, but will go into Sunday's draw for the Euro 2016 playoffs following Russia's victory over Montenegro.

Erik Hamren's men went into the final round of Group G fixtures two points behind Russia and relying on a favour from Montenegro, who could not deliver as they fell to a 2-0 defeat in Moscow.

Sweden missed out on the 2014 World Cup after losing a playoff to Portugal, but Paris Saint-Germain star Ibrahimovic is determined to lead his nation to next summer's European Championship in France.

"I don't want to miss the European Championship," he told Voetbal International. "It's unimaginable for me to see this tournament going on without me. We didn't go in the standard way, so we will find another one." 

UEFA has revealed that Bosnia-Herzegovina, Hungary, Sweden and Ukraine will avoid each other in the playoffs as top seeds, with possible opponents for the quartet including Denmark, Republic of Ireland, Norway and Slovenia.

The PSG forward added: "Whoever we meet it's going to be tough. In these all-or-nothing games, both teams give 200 percent, but I am sure we will qualify."
