Zlatan Ibrahimovic has become Sweden's all-time leading goal-scorer after netting a first-half brace during a 2-0 victory against Estonia on Thursday to take his international tally to 50.
Ibrahimovic, who made his Sweden debut in 2001, opened the scoring when firing a volley across the line following a corner just three minutes into the friendly at Solna's Friends Arena.
In the 24th minute, the Paris Saint-Germain star produced a fine flick to put Sweden 2-0 up, which took him to a half-century of goals on his 99th appearance for his country.
He celebrated by unveiling a message that read: "You made it possible."
Ibrahimovic beat the record set by Sven Rydell, who scored 49 goals in 43 appearances for Sweden between 1923 and 1932.
Gunnar Nordahl, who remains third in the list of scorers with 43 goals in 33 appearances, saw his international career cut short in 1948 after moving to AC Milan as only domestic-based players were then considered for selection.
