Swansea's Wilfried Bony, Leroy Fer to miss rest of season through injury

Swansea City duo Wilfried Bony and Leroy Fer are set to miss the remainder of the season through injury.

The club confirmed that Bony had torn his anterior cruciate ligament and will undergo surgery.

The striker was injured soon after coming on as a substitute in the 1-1 draw with Leicester on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Fer, who was stretchered off in the first-half of the game with Leicester, has ruptured his Achilles and faces surgery.

The news comes as a blow to Swansea's hopes of Premier League survival.

The club have climbed out of the bottom three since the appointment of new manager Carlos Carvalhal on Dec. 28. They are currently unbeaten in seven games in all competitions and have beaten Arsenal and Liverpool in recent weeks.
