Adam King signs new three-year Swansea City contract

Swansea have announced midfielder Adam King has signed a new three-year contract with the club that now runs to the summer of 2019.

Scotland Under-21 international King, who joined the Swans from Hearts in January 2014, had originally been on a deal which was set to expire at the end of next season.

The 20-year-old made his sole senior appearance for Swansea to date as a substitute in an FA Cup tie at Tranmere in January 2015, and he spent the first half of last term on loan with Crewe.

"I am delighted the club have shown faith in me again by offering me another deal," King told the club's official website. "It's a big thing for me. To kick on again in the next few years is going to be difficult, but I believe I can do it.

"Last season was a good one for me. I was out on loan and then after coming back I had a bit of experience training with the first team and getting to work with the new manager.

"Hopefully I can spend some more time with the first team next season and I'll see where that takes me."

Swansea start the new Premier League season away to Burnley on Aug. 13.
