Modou Barrow signs Swansea contract extension through to 2019

Swansea City winger Modou Barrow has signed a new three-year contract with the Premier League club.

Barrow, 23, joined Swansea from Swedish side Ostersunds in 2014 and he has since made 33 league appearances for the club, although only seven of those outings have been starts.

"I'm delighted to have signed a new contract," the Gambia international, who has had loan spells at Nottingham Forest and Blackburn Rovers, said on Swansea's official website.

"Now I've signed a longer contract, I really want to push on here. Now we've had a break, we are all looking forward to starting the season.

"We have a preseason tour of America ahead of us, which will really benefit the squad. There is a real sense of excitement for the new season. On a personal level, I want to get the fans on their feet. That's what I want to do when I'm on the ball.

"I'm happy to get their support when I'm playing and I want to get them on their feet a lot more.

"Francesco [Guidolin] is a good manager. He gave me a lot of chances to prove myself in games, and I'm looking forward to improving under him."
