David Moyes admitted he had almost forgotten what a Premier League win felt like after finally breaking his duck as Sunderland boss. The rock-bottom Black Cats grabbed a first three points of the season at the 11th attempt as Victor Anichebe inspired them to a 2-1 victory at Bournemouth. They needed to come from a goal down after Dan Gosling put the Cherries in front, and they also played with a man down for half an hour after Steven Pienaar's red card. But Anichebe's equaliser -- his first goal in 18 months -- and Jermain Defoe's late penalty lifted some of the gloom around Wearside. And afterwards Moyes, who watched from the stands due to a touchline ban, said: "I'd nearly forgotten what it felt like to smile." The match appeared to swing in Bournemouth's favour on the hour when Pienaar saw red for an ugly challenge on Junior Stanislas, but Bournemouth missed a host of chances and in the 74th minute Anichebe was tripped in the Cherries' area by Smith and Defoe did the rest from the spot. "I've always thought Victor has great ability, a lot more than people give him credit for," added Moyes. "He's got a lot going for him -- he doesn't always show it but he did today. "I've got to say for 20 minutes after the red card we got battered, they missed two or three chances. "But we've had a couple of games recently when things haven't gone for us. Sometimes you need a bit of fortune." Stunned Bournemouth tried desperately for an equaliser, but for once Sunderland managed to hold out with Jordan Pickford making a superb stop to deny Joshua King at the death. "We've had some gilt-edged chances," said Cherries manager Eddie Howe. "First and foremost I felt we should have been 2-0 ahead, we had really good opportunities in the first half. "Then they got back in the game -- but you felt the red card would swing it back in our favour. That's when we needed to find the killer touch. "Unfortunately we left the back door open and conceded the goal."
