Sunderland manager David Moyes hit with one-game touchline ban

Sunderland manager David Moyes will serve a one-game touchline ban and pay an £8,000 fine after accepting an FA misconduct charge.

Moyes was charged by the Football Association after confronting fourth official James Adcock during his side's 1-0 EFL Cup defeat at Southampton last week.

The incident happened after Sunderland had seen appeals for a penalty turned down, and Moyes said: "The problem was he chased me down the touchline. I swore at him, and I shouldn't have done so."

The manager, whose team have taken only two points from their first 10 games in the Premier League, will serve the ban when they travel to Bournemouth on Saturday.
