RB Leipzig confident Naby Keita will snub transfer interest from Chelsea
RB Leipzig coach Ralph Hasenhuttl has insisted that the club do not want to sell midfielder Naby Keita as the player continues to be linked with Chelsea.
Keita, 22, joined Leipzig from sister club Salzburg last summer, and has been hugely impressive in his first season in the Bundesliga.
The midfielder is under contract at Leipzig until 2020, and according to kicker has a €50 million release clause in his contract, which can be triggered in 2018, although this was denied by sporting director Ralf Rangnick in March.
Having already been linked with Bayern Munich and Liverpool in the past, Keita is now a reported target for Chelsea as cover for N'Golo Kante.
But speaking to Leipziger Volkszeitung, Hasenhuttl rejected the idea that Keita could leave the club this summer.
"He feels well, and we love him," Hasenhuttl said. "We are a super exciting club. Naby sees how much the coach invests to make him better."
Hasenhuttl was speaking following the club's celebrations for reaching the group stage of Champions League, and he believes they are a good indicator for Keita's future.
He said: "If I take the celebrations as a benchmark, Naby will stay with us forever. You just don't just leave a squad like ours."
