Dortmund's Christian Pulisic has 'no reason' to join Bayern Munich - father

The father of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Christian Pulisic has told Sport Bild there is "no reason" for his son to move to Bayern Munich at the moment.

Pulisic, 18, recently signed a new deal at Dortmund that ties him to the Champions League quarterfinalists until 2020.

Having made his first-team debut just over a year ago, the United States international has made 18 starts in all competitions in his first full season.

In March, former Bayern midfielder Mehmet Scholl linked Pulisic with a switch to the Bundesliga champions, saying he "could imagine Bayern might approach him because he has that special quality."

But Pulisic's father Mark said: "Those are flattering words. Of course he dreams of playing for big clubs.

"But he is already at a great club and Bayern are a competitor. Thus there is currently no reason for him to go there."
