Steven Defour set to undergo Burnley medical ahead of transfer - sources
Steven Defour has travelled to England to undergo a medical ahead of a move to Burnley, sources close to the club have told ESPN FC.
Anderlecht announced last week that they had agreed a deal in the region of £7.5 million with the Premier League new boys for the midfielder who is expected to sign a four-year deal and could make his debut against Liverpool next weekend.
Defour has been linked with a move to the Premier League in the past with Sir Alex Ferguson writing him a letter to confirming Manchester United were still interested in signing him after he broke a bone in his foot in 2009.
The 28-year-old, who was part of the Belgium squad at Euro 2016, will become Burnley's record signing should he seal his move to Turf Moor and will fill the void left by Joey Barton's departure to Glasgow Rangers.
Defour will become Burnley's fourth signing of the summer following the arrivals of Chartlon duo Nick Pope and Johan Gudmundsson and Liverpool defender Jon Flanagan on loan.
