Chelsea midfielder Nathan Ake joins Bournemouth on season-long loan
Bournemouth have agreed a season-long loan deal with Chelsea's versatile midfielder Nathan Ake.
Ake, 21, impressed at Watford last season, making 28 appearances in all competitions and claiming the club's Young Player of the Year award after a series of consistent performances at left-back and in midfield.
A season at Bournemouth will be a third loan move for the talented Netherlands under-21 international, following a short spell at Reading prior to his time at Vicarage Road.
"We are delighted to welcome Nathan to AFC Bournemouth," a club statement said.
"For a player of his age he already has great experience in the Premier League and we believe he will bring a lot to our squad.
"He is an international player with great pedigree, so we are really excited to have him join us for the upcoming season."
Comfortable playing as a left-back, centre-back or defensive midfielder, Ake joined Chelsea as a 16-year-old from Feyenoord's youth academy and won the FA Youth Cup with the Blues before making his Premier League debut as a substitute in December 2012.
But the Dutch youngster has made just 12 senior appearances for Chelsea in four years at Stamford Bridge, and will now look to convince Antonio Conte that he has a long-term future by impressing at Bournemouth.
Ake signed a new contract with Chelsea last summer that commits him to the club until June 2020.
