U.S. international Emerson Hyndman signs Bournemouth deal

United States international Emerson Hyndman has moved up to the Premier League after Bournemouth made him their first summer signing on Friday.

Hyndman, 20, was out of contract at Championship club Fulham this summer and a source told ESPN FC last month that he would leave Craven Cottage after rejecting an offer of a new deal.

Fulham, who will be due a compensation fee from Bournemouth, signed Hyndman in 2011 from FC Dallas.

The midfielder made his first-team debut in the 2014-15 campaign, and last season appeared in 17 games.

A number of clubs across Europe had been chasing Hyndman, but Bournemouth secured his services.

"We've moved swiftly in the window to secure Emerson's signature and we are delighted to have finalised the deal to bring such a promising young talent to AFC Bournemouth," club chief executive Neill Blake said in a club statement.

"Emerson is a highly rated young player and already boasts international experience, so will be a welcome addition to Eddie [Howe] and Jason [Tindall]'s squad."

"We now look forward to seeing him in action at Vitality Stadium in of our second season in the top flight."

Hyndman has two senior caps with the U.S. after previously serving as captain at the the 2015 Under-20 World Cup. He was also a fixture for the under-23 side that failed to qualify for the Olympics earlier this year.

Meanwhile, sources close to Fulham striker Moussa Dembele have told ESPN FC that Arsenal have joined the race for for the player.
