Eric Bailly close to joining Man United from Villarreal - reports
Manchester United are on the verge of completing a deal to sign Villarreal defender Eric Bailly, according to multiple reports.
AS and radio station Cadena SER reported that the clubs have reached an agreement in principle on a deal worth up to €40 million (£31.3m) fee for the 22-year-old.
United still need to agree to personal terms with Bailly, but the Daily Mirror, citing a source close to the Ivorian, reports that will be only a formality.
Bailly has started at centre-back for Villarreal since signing for just €5.5m from Espanyol 18 months ago as a replacement for Gabriel Paulista, who moved to Arsenal.
He has 14 caps for Ivory Coast and started all six games during their run to the 2015 African Nations Cup title.
