No United bid for Daley Blind - agent

ESPN FC's Craig Burley discusses how the perception of Manchester United needs to change based on their current form.

Daley Blind's agent has told talkSPORT that Manchester United are yet to launch a bid to sign his client.

Blind is reportedly on Louis van Gaal's transfer shortlist, but the Manchester United manager has not made a move for the Ajax utility man, according to his representative Rob Jansen.

"At this moment Manchester United have not been in touch with me or Ajax about Daley and I'm not sitting here waiting for the call,'' Jansen said on Tuesday.

Van Gaal knows Blind well from his time in charge of the Netherlands national side, who he led to third place in the 2014 World Cup.

The 24-year-old -- the son of former Netherlands international Danny Blind, who worked as Van Gaal's assistant in Brazil this summer -- can operate at left-back or in central midfield, where United are in desperate need of reinforcements.

United hope to complete the record 59.7million-pound transfer of Angel Di Maria from Real Madrid on Tuesday according to ESPN FC sources, and more signings are expected thereafter.

Sources in England and Italy have told ESPN FC that United will turn their attention to finally signing Arturo Vidal from Juventus despite initial reservations about the state of the Chile international midfielder's right knee.

The 20-time English champions have been linked with a move for Blind's compatriot Nigel de Jong, but PA Sport reports the AC Milan midfielder, who used to play for Manchester City, is not under consideration.

Central defence is another area where Van Gaal needs to strengthen before the transfer window closes, even though he bolstered his back line with the 16 million-pound acquisition of Marcos Rojo from Sporting Lisbon last week.
