Afellay signs for Olympiakos on loan

Ibrahim Afellay has endured a succession of injury nightmares since signing for Barcelona in 2011.
Ibrahim Afellay has not found success in Spain.

Barcelona have loaned Dutch winger Ibrahim Afellay to Olympiakos for the 2014-15 season.

Afellay, 28, has failed to break into the first team at the Nou Camp since joining in 2010 after suffering a serious injury that sidelined him until April 2012.

He was then loaned out to Schalke 04 in Germany but suffered another injury which derailed his progress. Last season he rejoined Barcelona but only played in two official matches: Malaga in La Liga and Levante in the cup

Afellay's contract at Barcelona expires this summer.
