Rafael Marquez moves to Verona

Hellas Verona have signed Mexican defender Rafael Marquez, bringing him back to European football from Mexican side Club Leon.

- Canales: Marquez continues an adventurous career

The 35-year-old, who joins on undisclosed terms, has played for clubs including Barcelona, Monaco and the New York Red Bulls.

He has chosen to wear the No. 4 shirt at the Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentegodi, Verona's official website said.

Marquez played for Mexico at the World Cup in Brazil, where his goal against Croatia made him the first Mexican player to score in three consecutive World Cups. He has won 124 caps in a 17-year international career.
