Stoke City goalkeeper Lee Grant hails 'great day' at Manchester United

Stoke goalkeeper Lee Grant said he would have to watch his Man of the Match performance against Manchester United at Old Trafford again to pick out his best save.

Grant, on loan from Derby, pulled off a number of great saves in a 1-1 draw in which substitute Anthony Martial opened the scoring for United before Joe Allen struck for the Potters late on.

"It's a great day for me personally," Grant told BT Sport. "But the point is more important. It's a much needed one."

He said he would "look back at the video" to pick out his best save.

And he was praised by United boss Jose Mourinho, who said: "In the first minute their keeper made an unbelievable save, and he kept doing that until the end of the game."

Stoke boss Mark Hughes, a former United favourite, said: "He's a good keeper, a great character and we are please he is with us."

Meanwhile, Allen said struggling Stoke had secured "a well-earned point."

He added: "You can see the effort. We have not been picking up many points, but you cannot fault the effort."
