Spain tribunal rejects fresh appeal of Cristiano Ronaldo's five-game ban

Fernando Palomo and Herculez Gomez have no problems with Ronaldo's 5-game ban and assess how Real will fare without him.
Real Madrid cruised to three points in their opening La Liga fixture of the season, as a Ronaldo-less Madrid still netted three.

Real Madrid's appeal to reduce Cristiano Ronaldo's five-game ban was rejected by a Spanish government's tribunal on Tuesday.

Ronaldo was suspended after pushing referee Ricardo De Burgos Bengoetxea after being shown a second yellow card late in the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup.

Madrid had already had an initial appeal rejected by Spain's football federation (RFEF), as the sending off ruled him out of the Super Cup second leg, and a fresh appeal to the Tribunal Administrativo del Deporte...

Pep Segura on Coutinho, Dembele: 'We hope they will wear a Barca shirt'

Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson refused to expand on speculation linking Philippe Coutinho with a move to Barcelona.

Barcelona's general manager said the club are close to completing deals for Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele after Wednesday's 2-0 Super Cup loss to Real Madrid, although the claim has been strongly rejected by Borussia Dortmund.

Liverpool's Coutinho has been the subject of two bids from Barcelona, the most recent worth €100 million turned down last week.

However, Coutinho responded by handing in a transfer request and Mundo Deportivo has reported that the Brazil international has told...

Zinedine Zidane revels in Super Cup win: 'I have a spectacular squad'

A sensational strike from Marco Asensio and a fine volley from Karim Benzema capped off a 5-1 aggregate Super Cup win for Real Madrid.
Despite being suspended for the second leg, Cristiano Ronaldo took to the pitch to celebrate Real Madrid's Super Cup win.

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane hailed his "spectacular" squad after they eased to a 2-0 victory over Barcelona at the Bernabeu on Wednesday evening to seal a 5-1 aggregate victory in the 2017 Spanish Super Cup.

After all the furore around suspended superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, he was barely missed as a Marco Asensio screamer made it 1-0 on just four minutes and Karim Benzema added a second before half-time. Although Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez hit the woodwork after the break, Barca never looked...

Barcelona's Gerard Pique: 'It's the first time I feel inferior to Madrid'

A sensational strike from Marco Asensio and a fine volley from Karim Benzema capped off a 5-1 aggregate Super Cup win for Real Madrid.

Gerard Pique says for the first time since he joined Barcelona he feels inferior to Real Madrid after Zinedine Zidane's side claimed the Spanish Super Cup on Wednesday.

First-half goals from Marco Asensio and Karim Benzema, coupled with Sunday's 3-1 victory at Camp Nou, saw Madrid canter to a 5-1 aggregate win, securing the club's seventh trophy since Zidane took charge.

Pique, who was taken off in the second half with an injury and will undergo tests on Thursday, subsequently conceded that Barca...
