Whistle won't blow until Real Madrid score - Deportivo's Garitano

Having been denied a point in the 3-2 loss to Real Madrid on Saturday, Deportivo La Coruna boss Gaizka Garitano hinted that the European champions get favouritism from referees at the Bernabeu.

The visitors went behind to an Alvaro Morata goal in the second half before storming back to silence the Madrid crowd with a brace from Joselu.

Despite Depor playing in defence of a lead, they allowed Zinedine Zidane's charges to level the score through Mariano Mejia in the 84th minute, allowing Sergio Ramos to net a last-ditch winner in the dying seconds.

The result enabled Madrid to keep a six-point lead intact over Barcelona, while Deportivo remained at the bottom half of the table in 16th place.

Clearly infuriated by the extra amount of time added on at the end of the 90 minutes, Garitano reckons the match officials were bias towards the home team.

"[Madrid] have a lot of power at the end, when five minutes are added on when there was almost no time we knew we'd play until they scored," Garitano said.

"In the Bernabeu there is more added time, until Real Madrid score the final whistle doesn't blow."

Madrid are now off to Japan to participate in the 2016 Club World Cup, where they face Liga MX side Club America in the opener.
