Javier Tebas will continue as president of La Liga for four more years, the Spanish Football League announced on Tuesday.
Elections were expected to be held later this month after Tebas resigned in September to call for new elections and go after a second term.
However, Eibar president Alex Aranzabal pulled out of the running last week to allow the 54-year-old Tebas to run unopposed, just as he did in 2013 when he replaced Jose Luis Astiazaran.
A statement from La Liga said: "In relation to the elections called for the presidency of the Liga Nacional de Futbol Profesional, in accordance with statutory provisions, regulations and the electoral calendar, the Electoral Commission reached the following agreements at its meeting this morning: with only one candidate running for president of the Liga Nacional de Futbol Profesional and that candidacy deemed valid, Javier Tebas Medrano is definitively announced as president of the National Football League on a four-year term, without needing to call an Extraordinary General Assembly."
Under Tebas in his three and a half years in charge, La Liga strengthened the finances for its 42 first- and second-division teams and also oversaw the centralisation of television broadcasting rights in Spanish football.
