Gareth Bale set to spark Real Madrid anxiety by playing vs. Andorra

Gareth Bale could be on a collision course with his club Real Madrid after reportedly rejecting their request for him to pull out of Wales' final qualifier on Tuesday.

Bale, 26, helped Wales to seal their place at Euro 2016 on Saturday despite losing 2-0 in Bosnia but has only recently recovered from a calf injury which he picked up in Madrid's Champions League victory over Shakhtar Donetsk.

Wales take on Andorra in a match with little to play for on Tuesday and but Bale revealed he would be making his case to start.

"I felt good on the field. I've got some minutes under my belt and I'm going to tell the gaffer that I want to play on Tuesday," he said. "Everyone knows how important Wales are to me and how proud we are to all play for our country."

Madrid striker Karim Benzema already sustained an injury which will keep him out for three weeks while on international duty for France last week, while Cristiano Ronaldo was released from the Portugal camp after helping them to qualify.

Bale will now stay with Wales, rather than heading back to Spain, with Madrid set to play their next La Liga game against Levante on Saturday.
