Real Madrid centre-back Sergio Ramos took part in group training on Thursday and could return to action in time for Saturday's game against Barcelona.

However, Gareth Bale did not take part in the session and is almost certain to miss out on the clasico at the Bernabeu.

Ramos had to leave Spain's training camp on Oct. 6 after suffering discomfort in his right calf and was unable to play in the Euro 2016 qualifiers against Slovakia and Luxembourg.

Since then, the former Sevilla defender has not featured for Real Madrid, although it was speculated that he would return to action for Wednesday's Champions League clash against Liverpool at Anfield. In the end, Real Madrid decided against taking the risk and he did not travel to England.

Meanwhile, the Real Madrid players who started Wednesday's 3-0 win at Anfield completed a recovery session earlier on Thursday.
