Paco Alcacer's tough start at Barca continues in Champions League

Luis Enrique's changes proved crucial as Barcelona came from behind to defeat Borussia Monchengladbach.

Barcelona's second half fightback to beat Borussia Monchengladbach 2-1 in the Champions League on Wednesday night proved Luis Enrique knows how to find solutions when the going gets tough, but the fact his team were in a sticky situation in the first place says a lot about his handling of Paco Alcacer.

While it is too early to dismiss Alcacer's career with Barca, the former Valencia striker has a lot of work to do to prove those who questioned the need, not to mention the cost, of his signing.

Gung-ho Zidane needs to tinker with Real Madrid formation to play it safe

Real Madrid were held to a 2-2 draw against Borussia Dortmund, while Juventus ran riot in a 4-0 win in Zagreb.

Three consecutive draws -- against Villarreal, Las Palmas and Borussia Dortmund -- have prompted a section of the Spanish media to declare Real Madrid in a state of pre-crisis.

It's hardly reason to believe in a jinx, but the last time the Madridistas tied three matches in a row, in 2006 against Barcelona, Real Sociedad and Getafe, they ended up 12 points behind the Azulgrana in La Liga, and were eliminated in the semifinals of the Copa del Rey, as well as in the last 16 round of the Champions League...

Barcelona's Luis Enrique 'very happy' with Arda Turan's play vs. Gladbach

ESPN FC's Gemma Soler checks in from the Borussia-Park to break down Barcelona's 2-1 win over Borussia Monchengladbach.

Arda Turan came off the bench to help Barcelona beat Borussia Monchengladbach 2-1 on Wednesday and Luis Enrique is delighted he's finally beginning to show what he's capable of.

The Turkish international joined Barca from Atletico Madrid last summer, although he was unable to make his debut until January due to the club's transfer ban.

He struggled to make a mark in his first season in Catalonia, but has begun the new campaign in much better form.

Atletico Madrid's Diego Godin sprains ligaments in ankle

Craig Burley and Steve Nicol explain how Atletico Madrid are constantly able to down the big boys of European football.
Fernando Torres reacts to Atletico's win over Bayern Munich and emphasises the Calderon's special place in his heart.

Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin sprained ligaments in his left ankle while helping his team to Wednesday evening's 1-0 Champions League Group D win at home to Bayern Munich.

The Uruguay international played his usual part at the centre of the watertight Atletico defence. Bayern's in-form centre-forward Robert Lewandowski was shackled, with Colchoneros winger Yannick Carrasco's goal enough to get the three points for his side.
